2021 Swim-A-Thon and Food Truck
Hello flyers! What a great first week we have had so far! It has been so nice to be back at it and see so many familiar and new faces!
Next Thursday, May 13th we are having our Swim-A-Thon. There is no practice this day as we will be using the pool for the fundraiser. Adults and kids are invited to join us to help raise money for our swim team. For one hour participants will swim, having their laps tracked. Money can be raised by a flat donation or a donation per lap. We will swim in rounds, every 15 minutes. There will be raffle prizes and fun to be had!
The Swim-A-Thon will Start at 5:30 and we will swim the last session at 7. While this is happening, Briarvillage will be hosting Waffle o'licious Waffle Food Truck!!! I am attaching the link HERE ! This Food truck looks AMAZING and will have both sweet and savory options. This amazing food truck has also graciously offered to sponsor our team! So, come and swim for a good cause, stay and play, visit, meet new friends, and have dinner!

2021 Briar Flyers Season
Registration Now Open!
Hi everyone! Hope you and your families have managed to navigate this past year as best as possible. We missed all of our swimmers last year but we are excited to announce we are having a 2021 swim team season! Things might look a little different this year but we are going to make this season as much fun as possible!
Practices themselves will look mostly the same but entering and leaving the pool area will be a little different. We will be implementing a Covid screening process and taking temperatures at the pool gate before swimmers enter the pool area for practice. We will also limit the number of swimmers per lane and practice social distancing outside of the pool as much as possible. We will highly encourage parents to not attend practices. We are trying to limit the amount of people in the pool area and this will help keep occupancy down.
Our meets are going to be “virtual”. What this means is the teams competing against each other will swim in their own pools and we will use a meet manager software that will give us live time results of all the races. Parents/guardians will have access to these results using a free app that you can download on your phone. Spectators will be allowed in designated viewing areas.
We might try to have an in-person dual meet at our pool later in the season but this hasn’t been confirmed yet and all swimmers will have the option to opt-out of this meet if they choose to do so.
The plan is to have as many Covid safe but fun activities as possible. For example, we will still have some modified versions of the poster-making party, pasta parade, banquet, etc. As all of you are well aware, situations these days are always in flux. Things might look a lot different as our swim season approaches or as it progresses. We plan on monitoring those conditions during the season and adjusting accordingly. As always, participation in any social events is completely optional.
