Volunteer Roles
The following is a brief description of the general volunteer positions for parents. If it is your first time volunteering, someone will go over the basics with you before your shift. Most of these positions are very easy and you will get the hang of them quickly. If you have any questions or concerns about volunteering, please contact Carrie or Miriam. There is a requirement of one volunteer shift PER MEET. If you are interested in being a volunteer head, please contact one of the reps.
Concessions- Set up concessions, preparing, and/or selling foods and beverages. Needed for home meets, fundraising, and special events.
Hospitality- Carry drinks to all timers, judges, and clerks and check on their welfare. At home meets, maintain water/lemonade/ice for volunteers.
Lane Timer- Use stopwatches to time swimmers in their events.
Timesheet Runner- Deliver timesheets to timers, auditors, and the computer area.
Judge Runner- Picks up any and all DQ sheets from the judges and takes them to be signed by the referee and then takes them into the auditor
Ribbons- Help put labels on ribbons as events are closed out in the meet on the computer. Job is performed in the office/clubhouse.
Computer assistant- Enters times for swimmers into the computer. prints heat sheets
Kid wrangler- Collect swimmers in the 10U/8U/6U age groups and deliver them on time to the heat benches for their events.
Clerk- One Clerk will seat swimmers on the heat benches and one clerk delivers the swimmers to the starting end of the pool. Works closely with the kid wranglers and coaches to communicate no-shows and changes.
Judge- Watch for swimmer compliance with stroke, turn, and touch rules, attend league training. This position requires training or prior approval from a team rep.
Parking Attendant- Because our space is limited and street parking is a big issue for some of our neighbors, this person will sit at the entrance to the parking lot, guide cars on where to go, and allow those with parking permits to enter the lot. This position is from 7 to 9 am on normal meet days

As a Stroke and Turn/Turn Judge Official, you play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our swim meets. You'll observe swimmers' strokes or touch/turns to ensure they comply with regulations. Volunteering as an official creates a positive and competitive environment for our young athletes.

Parents with knowledge of swimming are encouraged to fill this role and apply for this head judge volunteer role.
