Swim-a-Thon Invitation and Swim-a-Thon Pledge Sheet attached. Files will also be posted on website soon.
Hello, Flyers! Swimmers are training and working hard to
improve their stamina and skills, and it is a joy to see new and familiar faces
- what a great start to the 2022 season!
The annual Swim-A-Thon is Thursday, June 2nd. Participants will swim for one hour in rounds, every 15 minutes. The Swim-A-Thon will start at 5:30 pm. The last session is at 7:00 pm. There is no practice on this day.
This event is open to Briar Flyer and
Junior Flyer, parents, siblings, and those supporting our swimmers and team. Please show your support and join us in raising money for
our swim team. This year our goal is to purchase new lane lines.
Prizes, raffles, games, and music - come and swim for a
good cause, stay and play, and visit and meet new friends!
Everything you need to know!
Our Swim-A-Thon is just 7 days away!
Here is some helpful information for you and your swimmer(s):
What is the Swim-A-Thon?
The swim-a-thon
is the BIGGEST FUNDRAISING event of the season. Athletes request donations from sponsors (family and friends),
either per lap (one pool length), or lump sum donations. Each swimmer will swim
as many laps as possible during their scheduled time and then collect their
sponsors' pledges. Volunteers and coaches will track and tally the total
laps swam.
Why is the Swim-A-Thon important?
Fundraiser
proceeds augment the income of the Briar Village Swim Club and all its swim programs.
The swim team is non-profit and 100% volunteer-run. Proceeds fund team
operating expenses and sponsor activities while keeping swimmer registration
fees low.
Whom do I ask for pledges?
Athletes
ask your friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, and parents'
co-workers who may be interested in sponsoring you – and, of course, Mom &
Dad! Some people like to donate 10 cents, 25 cents, or 50 cents a lap and enjoy
seeing how many laps you'll swim. Others may prefer to donate a lump sum amount.
Payment information
Checks can be made payable to BVST. Cash is also accepted and
appreciated! Venmo @Kelly-Foster-33
When do I collect the money?
Athletes may collect flat amounts of donations at any time. Lap
counters will let you know how many laps you swam on the day of the Swim-A-Tho.
You can use this information to collect per lap donations after the event.
Where can I get a pledge form?
The 2022 Swim-A-Thon pledge sheet is attached.
Thank you,
